HUMAN MOVEMENT ASSIGNMENT #1: 

Create your own "Muscle Group Digital Flash Cards". 

Using my set as an example, create your study guide for the upcoming quiz on muscle groups.
You may use PowerPoint (as shown), or register at www.flashcardmachine.com to make your own set, and "share" with me at shesatthegym@gmail.com. 
You need to include all the major muscle groups, and add a graphic on each term slide/card.   This assignment is worth 15 points, and is due on April 12th.  
******No late flash cards accepted, as the exam is on Monday, April 15th!

Class Overview


Course Description

Human Anatomy and Physiology is an advanced science course taken at the high school 
level.

Students enrolled in this course should realize that this course requires an extensive
amount of time, effort, reading, and memorization. Successful completion of this class requires
dedication and commitment from the student.


Course goals include the following: 
1.) Be able to identify the major body systems and understand what each body system does,
2.) Be able to relate how each body system works,
3.) Be able to identify and explain major cells, tissues, and organs, and
4.) Be able to identify and explain functions of central muscles and bones.

Class lessons will cover the following topics: 

  • Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology, 
  • Chemistry, 
  • Cells, 
  • Tissues, 
  • The Integumentary System, 
  • The Skeletal System, 
  • The Muscular System, 
  • The Nervous System, 
  • The Sensory System, 
  • The Endocrine System, 
  • The Cardiovascular System, 
  • The Lymphatic System, 
  • The Respiratory System, 
  • The Digestive System, 
  • The Urinary System, and 
  • The Reproductive System

Classroom Policies:

Tardies: You will be considered tardy if you are not in your seat when the bell
rings, and you are unprepared for class (i.e. missing notebooks, books, pencil, etc.).
Leaving the classroom: You will receive 4 tickets with your name on them at the
beginning of each semester, these tickets are your hall pass to be used for bathroom
breaks or to retrieve something from your locker. You only get 4 per semester, if
they are all used up, then you are not allowed to leave the room. If you leave the
room with permission, you must obtain the hall pass, and sign the out board on the
door. Upon returning, you must sign the in-board.
Behavior: You are expected to follow the Student Behavior Contract and Lab
Safety Guidelines at all times. These forms must be signed during the first week of
school
Clothing: All safety precautions will be taken in the laboratory setting. Shoes must
be worn at all times, and goggles must be warn when chemicals are present in the
lab. During lab day, aprons and lab coats are available to protect clothing. You
should not wear loose floppy clothing, shorts, or contact lenses during labs. Long
hair must be tied back.
Food/Drink: No food or drink is allowed in the lab.

Discipline:
The following guidelines will be followed in the event of a discipline problem.
1st incident: Conference with student (warning).
2nd incident: Office referral written to principal for detention (2 hours)
3rd incident: Office referral written to principal/conference with parent. (you
will not be allowed back into the classroom until this conference with your
parent happens)
